My Story

In November 2014 I was sick. I'd been sick for a very long time. Every morning I took an inhaled asthma medicine and a nasal asthma medicine. During the day I used a rescue inhaler, and at night I took my morning meds again. At what I thought were random intervals, I suffered with severe dysphagia -- at times I thought I was dying -- I also suffered from mouth ulcers, and blisters on and around my lips. I always assumed the mouth sores were related to the herpes virus (cold sores).

I figured I would have to live my life suffering with them. My doctor finally listened to my complaints and sent me to a specialist. It was this doctor that realized every issue I had was related to a food allergy. It took diligence on my part, but after weeks of suffering and journaling I discovered I am allergic to nightshade vegetables.

For years I had been poisoning my body and I had no idea. After more than a year of being nightshade free, I no longer take daily asthma medicine, and rarely use a rescue inhaler. As long as I stay away from nightshades I am healthy, but that is harder than it seems. That's why I started this blog, to share what I've learned and to help you get well, too. Please note I am not a doctor and what I've learned I've learned from personal experience.
